WEI operates in areas of ecological importance around South Africa and are passionate about our unique natural heritage. We harness the benefits provided by our wildlife economy to support conservation managers in their fight against biodiversity loss. We do this through self-funded student, internship and volunteer programmes.
We support conservation managers in their fight against biodiversity loss and help protect the natural resources on which we all depend. We do this through self-funded student, internship and volunteer programmes to conduct ecological monitoring and deliver training courses which inspire conservationists of the future.
We do applied conservation research which brings together academics from various institutes and universities to support our ecological monitoring and provide conservation managers with an evidence based framework for decision making.
We believe it is vital to create conservation awareness and share our outdoor learning experiences with the next generation of young conservationists. Our conservation safaris attract students, interns and volunteers that join us from around the world throughout the year.
We operate in areas with abundant wildlife, spectacular scenery and some of the best tourist locations in Southern Africa, including the Greater Kruger Park, Western Cape Fynbos biodiversity hotspot and Sodwana Bay Marine Protected Area.
Our core team of dedicated Camp Managers, Field Guides, Game Rangers, Scuba Instructors and Dive Masters are supported by Academics, Researchers and specialists in African Conservation Ecology.
